UFO

This project was inspired by the original  made  by Chris Olsen

This thing had a 30ft. diameter and was 10 ft. across. This picture was taken before it was hoisted up.
           There was a green strobe light flashing inside the clear dome, and flashing white x-mas lights around the outer rim.

 A round cement form was the core and anchor point for hanging

 The outer ring consisted of 6 five foot sections  of 1/2" pvc for ease of disassembly

Working out the dimensions

The ring is sitting on chairs to put it the right height, then a silver tarp is duct taped and trimmed to it

 Another silver tarp for the top, it also gets fastened to the center tube

The clear sphere for the top. The opaque sphere was not used.

O.K.  I admit it. I photoshopped it into the sky

The day after this event was staged, the ufo tore apart under it's own weight!
Even though it was light, duct tape is not enough to hold something like this together. Safety first!
